Cake shop exploration : Crumbs & Doilies.

1 Kingly Court, Carnaby, London, W1B 5PW. Open Mon - Sat 11am - 7pm, Sun 12pm - 6pm | www.crumbsanddoilies.co.uk

You'll need to have been living in a cave for a long while to have missed their amazing bakes and cake creations on t'net. Purveyors of cakes so pretty and sweet that you'll weep, or spend hours looking up cake porn in my case... so when news of their new cake shop landed late last year I just had to swing by for some tasty cake on my next London trip!

A much welcome addition to Carnaby's Kingly CourtCrumbs & Doilies have been feeding Londoner's sweet tooth's with their daily offerings of scrumptious bakes. With cakes that are as pretty as they are delicious, their constantly changing menu of cakes is enough to give any cake fancier a happy heart attack (although I can't be at fault for any heart flutters viewing their bakes on screen!). From scrumptious biscoff spread laced cakes, to towering 8 layer raspberry ripple cake (because we all NEED more layers of deliciousness!) and even toblerone topped brownies, if you can think of it, chances are they've baked it.

Nestled on a pretty cobbled entrance way near Beak street (that close proximity to the Illamasqua shop could nearly have damaged my bank account..), their lovely pastel blue shop beacons you in to be greeted by a lovely counter of cakes. With plenty of tasty bakes to tempt, from extravagant layered cakes, to tasty cupcakes and even a sweet mini version of each cupcake flavour, so there really is no excuse not to give them a try!

On my visit their was plenty of scrumptious bakes to choose from, with a busy queue of keen cake fanciers after their fill of the baked stuff! You were really spoilt for choice, with a yummy selection of cakes available, from towering chocolate cake, to yummy rocky road, Nutella and Eton mess cupcakes, fancying a couple of flavours I decided to give their mini cupcakes a go, grabbing a salted caramel and a cherry bakewell mini cupcake. They may look dinky but they certainly pack a punch, with a yummy moist bake, topped with a delightfully sweet buttercream, the cherry bakewell cupcake actually features some yummy cherry jam in the buttercream, making for a lovely flavour alongside the pretty pink colouring! Not to forget the delicious salted caramel topping that's by far one of the best I've had yet.

To accompany my tasty mini cakes I chose a classic cup of Earl grey, you'll find a great selection of hot and cold drinks if you decide to stay in and over indulge on cake!

Whether you want to pop in for some tasty cupcakes to take home, or stay in and overindulge it's certainly worth a visit, with a constantly changing selection of bakes you'll be sure to find something that takes your fancy! They even cater for food allergies and vegan diets so you won't feel left out, just ask!
